Have had this desk for about a month and am very happy with it! It is shipped in 2 separate boxes that are pretty heavy so make sure you have someone to help you lift it. Instructions were very clear – super easy to put together but there were SO many pieces! Takes several hours to assemble but looks great once done. High quality for an “assemble yourself” piece. Love that it has so many drawers, just wish they had dividers like my old desk to organize pens/whatnot in. Only thing I don’t like is that it isn’t “protected” on the top so there are already some nicks that are pretty noticeable with the light color under the finish showing through. These are from very light use. I will probably touch these up with some dark stain and then put a coat of matte polyurethane on top to prevent more little nicks in the long run. Overall happy with this purchase.

I love this desk. It is gorgeous and extremely well made. I did and the guy had it perfectly together in 2 hours flat. I was blown away after other reviews regarding their experience with assembly. It would have taken me forever. I also got two library book cases and the filing cabinet I’m having assembled next week. This is my second Sauder desk. I love the quality of their items. I sold my other when I moved to Florida recently. By the way, this set goes great with a Floridian style home. If you get assembly with the desk, you absolutely will love it with no regrets whatsoever!

The whole desk is made out of veneer particle board and fiberboard. Poorest quality of wood. The desk took a full 8 hours to assemble. It was very time consuming. The center desk drawer was off center a little and rubbed on one side. I took it to the table saw and trimmed it down to fit. Some of the fasteners are questionable and are poor quality as well. I had to glue and air nail all the drawers together because they are very flimsy and the drawer bottoms are loose and very thin. I thought that heavy items in the drawers would bust out of the bottom. I also added some thicker bracing under the drawers so they can hold more weight. I used more glue for the top because I felt like if I lifted the desk up the top would come off. What made it easier to put together was I used a power screwdriver to screw in the screws and then hand tightened. The drawer glides seemed to work good. I was looking for a cheap school desk for college. Another recommendation, put it together in the room you want it in because I can’t fit it through my bedroom door. If I want to in another room I will have to take it apart enough to fit it through the doorway.

This desk met all my requirements. While it took a while to assemble, the instructions were clear. It simply is complex therefore takes a good bit of time to assemble but without any excessive difficulty. Advise is read the instructions, re-read them, and take your time. I had one problem in assembly (my fault) and contacted customer support who was both responsive and professional. Additionally, assemble in a large room because you be constantly looking for parts. If you are looking for a good, affordable desk this will meet your needs.

I absolutely love this desk! It came very well packaged. Like other reviews, it took me a while to assemble (almost 4 hrs), and probably would have gone a little faster if I’d had someone help me but my husband was out of town when it arrived. The drawers were a bit hard to get to slide in correctly. They have adjustments and that took me the longest. Also, I decided against using the lower cabinet file inserts on one side. Fine to leave out if you want to. It’s a beautiful, sturdy (and quite heavy) desk. Easily fits my two monitors, keyboard and writing materials with room on either side. I would definitely recommend.

I was able to assemble this by myself in about 5 hours or less. It’s very sturdy.I love the color!There were a couple of small issues with drawer adjustments and one of the screw holes on the pencil drawer was drilled out a little big but my husband was able to fix that. Overall, it’s the best value for my money that I was able to find and I’m very pleased!I bought the desk, 2 lateral files, the utility stand and 3 bookcases.
