   The fan is mounted 20 feet up in a large area and moves a ton of air. This fan does have a button to reverse the direction, I am thinking that is what the other people are having issues with. This is the first one I have purchased and will likely buy more for our facility if it holds up to to the type of fabrication/manufacturing environment it is located in. I will give an update after 6 months of daily use.

   I installed three of these units on the lower back patio. They don’t spin up like an airplane, but create nice air movement silently. Mine are on 3 foot drop rods, and balanced perfectly out of the box. I don’t bother with the remote (although I coded all with the same code), just wired them to a switch after setting them on ‘summer’ air flow direction and high speed. The directions for the assembly were straight forward, there was plenty of lead wires for an even longer drop rod, but remote programming was a little bit squirrelly. I am very pleased with this fan.

   Fan comes with a 6 inch long downrod which is 1/2 inch diameter. Standard downrod are 3/4 inch diameter. If you need a longer than 6 inch downrod you better order one with the fan as you will not be able to find one locally. I did get a piece of Galvanized steel pipe 1/2 inch diameter at the hardware store, had to cut it to length, drill cross holes in it at each end, and paint it to match the fan. Why the manufacturer can’t use standard 3/4 inch diameter downrod is beyond me. Just be forewarned. Fan seems nice other than that. I am installing on a sloped ceiling 16 feet up so I am using so.e scaffolding that I happen to have.

   I’ve now purchased four of these. They don’t blow a hurricane….but the move a large volume and keep the air moving almost silently. Which is what I wanted them to do. Also none of the four have required any balancing of the blades. On high they are without any “wobble” and almost silent. If you want steady silent air movement these are the ones for you.

   Not as much air flow I wanted but that’s my fault. It’s still acceptable. If you get the light kit the dimmer on the remote could be improved for ease of use.

    I’ve installed several fans in my house over the years. This was the easiest with the wiring and no crazy remote box to cram in either. It puts out more air than my 48” fan but not as much as you would expect an 8’ Fan. Definitely a noticeable difference. This is on my back porch and works great after a week. Satisfied Forsure
